Morris Washington, MD, FACS IS A BOARD-CERTIFIED SURGEON SPECIALIZING IN MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY, GASTROINTESTINAL ENDOSCOPY, AND OBESITY SURGERY. Dr.Washington’s numerous credentials include a medical degree from New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York, and a surgical residency and endoscopic fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. Dr. Washington’s prestigious academic appointments include: Director of Surgical Endoscopy, St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, New York; Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery, New York Medical College; Clinical Instructor of Surgery, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. Dr. Washington is a member of several esteemed medical associations, such as the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Washington has been published extensively, gives presentations nationwide, and lectures continually in the field of advanced laparoscopic surgery, bariatric surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Emily Choi, RPA-C is a physician assistant who joined Central Jersey Bariatrics in 2008 as a surgical physician assistant and bariatric coordinator. Emily is trained to assist our surgeon in the operating room. She graduated from Cardozo High School in Bayside, NY. She then completed a Bachelors of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from St Johns University in Jamaica, NY. She spent her clinical year in hospitals and medical offices in New York City and Louisiana where she gained a vast amount of her clinical experience.
Emily is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the state of New Jersey and New York. Emily is a member of several medical societies such as the American Academy of Physician Assistants, American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants, and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Emily resides in Freehold, NJ. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing the piano, and spending time with her family and friends
Julie Parrott, MS, RD, LD
Registered Dietician
Julie has worked in the field of nutrition for over 20 years in a variety of roles. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and her Master of Science from the University of Chicago at Illinois. She found her niche working in the challenging area of obesity treatment though she has experience in the areas of sports nutrition and eating disorders as well. Additionally, Julie is a published research dietitian, having worked in a number of environments including university, hospital (both, inpatient and outpatient) and private practice settings. She also worked as a clinical research study coordinator and clinical monitor for the Lap Band FDA trials for the Inamed LAGB device. She is certified as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer by the American Council for Exercise (A.C.E.).
Ms. Parrott is an accomplished public speaker—having presented various original research findings at academic conferences as well as lead training courses for both professional and non-professional groups. She served as the Bariatric Surgery Subunits Coordinator for the American Dietetic Association for 2 years and the Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group Subunit Director. She is an active member of the Integrated Health Ad-hoc Nutrition Committee of ASMBS and co-author of the ASMBS Nutrition Guidelines for the Surgical Weight Loss Patient. She is a member of the ASMBS Nominating Committee and an Allied Health Editor for the journal, Surgery for Obesity and Related Disorders (SOARD).
Jessica Wolski, MS, PA-C is a surgical physician assistant and bariatric coordinator. Jessica Wolski completed an accelerated dual-degree program obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey. Jessica is trained to assist our surgeon in the operating room and has also spent two years in hospitals and medical offices throughout the state of New Jersey where she gained a vast amount of clinical experience. Jessica joined Central Jersey Bariatrics in 2006.
Jessica is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the state of New Jersey. Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants, the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants, and she is a committee member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
